Guest Speaker: Ginger Whitwell
At our member meeting this past Wednesday, April 3rd, we had the privilege of hosting Ginger Whitwell, owner of Frock Oxford on the square. In addition to owning Frock, Ginger is also a certified yoga instructor at Baptiste Power Yoga, avid blogger, and mom. Ginger spoke to our members about the importance of ambition, authenticity, and dedication as a woman in business. Ginger purchased the lease for Frock in March of 2019, but she spoke about how she has always had a passion for style and fashion since spending time with her grandmother in childhood. She spoke about the importance of declaring a “full bodied yes to chasing her dreams and living a very full life”, which is a lesson that is very inspirational to all of our members. Ginger also spoke about the importance of remaining authentic to yourself and your own individuals goals and visions. Members were also encouraged to embrace failure as growth and remain dedicated and determined to making dreams into reality. “Without a destination that is authentic to who you are, there is no real direction,” Ginger said. We learned a lot about the importance of confidence in one’s self and ambitions but also the immense hard work and logistical planning it takes to accomplish these tasks. “It is all really work,” Ginger informed members as the bottom line of the steps towards success. “Nothing comes naturally, and you must work to get the things you want. But the good news is: it's so worth it.” Ginger also spoke of always continuing to learn throughout life and having ambitious goals for the future. Lastly, she engaged with members through a Q&A style discussion, which allowed members to gain more valuable insight on aspects of owning a business that interested them. We are so grateful that Ginger Whitwell took the time to speak with our organization, and she also serves as a constant local role model for our members!
